Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic

Sourcify Pty Ltd Key Responsibilities Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical plans to determine installation requirements. Establish installation reference points and system layouts. Drill holes, install mounting brackets, and cut, bend, and thread piping.

Install, maintain, and repair compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, gauges, switches, and related components. Install and connect copper lines for refrigerants, steam, gas, compressed air, oil, and chilled water systems. Join and connect pipes through bolting, soldering, riveting, welding, and brazing.

Conduct pressure testing and leak detection procedures. Test and commission refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Evacuate systems using vacuum pumps and correctly charge refrigerant.

Diagnose faults and perform repairs or replacement of defective components. Adjust system controls and optimize equipment performance. Complete maintenance reports and record causes of malfunctions and corrective actions taken.

Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.   Requirements AQF Certificate III with at least two years of relevant on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3). 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVAC equipment, and refrigerant handling procedures.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and problem-solving skills.
