FIFO Leading Hand Fitter

Position: Leading Hand Fitter
Location: Perth WA → Remote site
Roster: 2 weeks on / 1 week off
Pay: $80 - $95 P/H + Leading Hand Allowance

Position overview

We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Fitter to join the B&J Catalano team on a FIFO roster. This is a hands on leadership role suited to someone with strong mobile plant maintenance experience who enjoys leading by example, mentoring others and ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standard.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with site safety standards and actively promote a safe work environment

• Lead, mentor and support the maintenance team to achieve planned maintenance targets

• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard

• Liaise with clients and site personnel to manage maintenance priorities

• Contribute to weekly maintenance planning meetings

• Maintain accurate shift log, handovers, job packs and work orders

• Coordinate the agreed weekly maintenance plan with onsite and offsite support teams

• Coordinate the freight of parts and components to and from site

• Provide hands-on support with fault finding, breakdown repairs and planned maintenance activities

About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

Licences & Tickets

• Current WA HR Driver’s Licence

• Recognised Australian Trade Qualification

• Current High Risk Work Licence – Forklift

• White/Blue Card

• National Police Clearance (within 12 months)

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Leading Hand or Supervisor within the civil or mining industry

• Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills on heavy mobile equipment

• Excellent organisational and time management skills

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced mining environment

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace

• Ability to coach, mentor and develop team members

• Sound computer skills with experience using maintenance management systems
