About the role
About us:
Leed is an award winning civil contractor delivering projects in metropolitan, regional and remote areas of Australia. We have over 350 staff with offices and workshops in Adelaide, Bendigo, Cooma, and Melbourne. We contribute to some of Australia’s largest sustainable energy projects, and deliver reliable, safe water infrastructure and road projects that serve communities around the country.
The Project:
The Snowy Hydro Scheme is Australia’s largest ever engineering project. The scheme diverts water from four of Australia’s major rivers over a mountainous area of over 5,000 km2 and now provides a capacity of more than 5.5 MW of electricity across New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
Leed has been working directly with the Main Contractor Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) since the project’s inception – delivering a range of earthworks, bridge, concrete, drainage, road and pavement works. The engagement is through a series of repeated and specific tasks. We have been proudly supporting this exciting venture for over 7 years.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our highly capable delivery team, which offers the opportunity to contribute to the future growth and expansion of the Snowy 2.0 project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in planning, coordination, and delivery of civil infrastructure works.
• Support the review and implementation of work methodologies and staging.
• Work closely with the construction team, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
• Monitor cost, progress, and quality, ensuring compliance with project and contractual requirements.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, schedules, and QA records.
• Promote strong safety, environmental, and quality performance on site.
About You:
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years’ experience in civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Enthusiastic, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.
• Strong commitment to quality and safety.
• Posses a high level of attention to detail.
• Confident in using the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
• Current drivers license and White Card.
• Ability to work to a 10:4 roster and willingness to travel.
What we offer:
• Opportunity to contribute to a landmark national infrastructure project.
• Supportive and collaborative team.
• Competitive salary and clear career development pathways.
• Highly lucrative Living Away From Home Allowance (LAFHA).
• Permanent ongoing employment beyond project completion.
Leed is an Equal Opportunity employer committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace where all individuals can thrive. We strive to build a diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we work and to ensure everyone is treated fairly, with dignity and respect. We recognise and value the full spectrum of individual identities and experiences, including gender, age, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion, neurodiversity, and more.
