About the role
To be effective in this highly varied role, the person must be familiar with electrical component behavior and PCB testing and debugging tools. They will design and execute experimental tests, analyzing data to solve complex technical challenges. By working closely with engineering teams, they will help quickly determine root causes and implement countermeasures for field issues, ultimately enhancing product quality, reliability, and durability of Tesla products.
What You'll Do
Drive issue resolution from root cause analysis to countermeasure implementation on electromechanical components from Tesla’s Energy Products Perform hands-on troubleshooting including electrical debug, component level inspection, rework, and functional testing to isolate failure modes Work closely with engineers to help solve technical problems you spot Develop and document clear step-by-step debug and test procedures for other technicians to use Design and execute custom experiments and specialized test fixtures to investigate complex hardware failures. Provide clear, concise reporting of test results, inspection findings, and technical issues Ensure all testing activities adhere to safety protocols
What You'll Bring
Cert III in Electronics and Communications, Electrotechnology, or equivalent (higher qualifications are highly regarded).Previous hands-on experience with PCB-level debugging, and electronics rework with a strong aptitude reading electronics schematics. Demonstrable experience operating standard electrical test equipment (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.), and proficiency with hand and power tools. Nice to have a working knowledge of battery technologies, power electronics, or awareness of high voltage safety procedures.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in documenting test results and technical issues. Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced lab environment. Ability to lift 20 kg.
