Non Executive Director

Do you want to help an organisation with deep roots providing education and care to children and vulnerable families in Sydney, to refresh itself and continue to grow its impact for the future? Weldon Children’s Services is a Not-For-Profit charity registered with the ACNC. We currently operate several Before and After School Care programs, Vacation Care, Early Childhood Education/Learning Centres, and offer additional social impact ventures. Our services are located across Sydney. We're embarking on a significant transformation journey, building on our current education and care programs. The drive behind this transformation is to find additional ways to support young children and their families, particularly those experiencing hardship and distress, to ensure they can successfully engage in and benefit from mainstream education. We're passionate about child safety, children's rights, equitable access to quality education and care, and making a positive impact to Australia's future. We're seeking a volunteer non-executive director with legal expertise and qualifications in law to join our Board. Additionally, we're looking for people whose values are aligned with ours, and the ability to adopt a care governance lens. The key to your success is your ability to demonstrate how you can help Weldon navigate complex and sensitive issues in regulated environments in an industry experiencing challenge and change. We are not looking for in-house legal counsel, but if your legal expertise is in complex regulatory environments you will complement the skills and experience of the current Board members.
