The Role
We're looking for an experienced Naval Architect to join a Defence maritime program in Canberra. This is a great opportunity for a senior naval architecture professional to play a critical role in the design, analysis and development of advanced naval systems and vessels.
You'll bring a strong background in ship design and marine engineering, handling complex technical problems and working closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality design outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct structural and hydrodynamic analyses to support vessel design and verification Review and optimise vessel designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality technical outcomes Provide technical expertise and support to stakeholders throughout project lifecycles Support design review, design acceptance and technical certification activities
Required
Current NV1 security clearance Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering or a related engineering discipline Strong background in naval architecture, ship design and marine engineering Proficiency in relevant design and analysis software Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and communication abilities
