At Victoria's Big Build, we’re building state-shaping projects that will change the way that Victorians work, live and play. Victoria’s Big Build is overseen by the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA), a specialist project delivery organisation.

Victoria's Big Build Graduate Program

Over a 2-year program, you'll have the opportunity to:

About the role

Make a difference for Victorians while building the skills, confidence and experience to launch your career. You’ll work with committed teams and contribute to major projects shaping how people live, move and connect.

Delivering Victoria’s Big Build takes people from many disciplines working together in complex, creative environments. Depending on your stream, you may work with project teams, specialists, consultants, contractors and industry partners across different industries.

You'll develop capability in the promotion of a safe work culture and be involved with the different aspects of safety within VIDA Roads.

• Support coordination of all health and safety aspects of activities undertaken by project staff and contractors.
• Gain an understanding of safety management systems development, implementation and auditing, relationship management
• provide sound advice in accordance with legislative requirements, policies and procedures.
• Support a positive safety culture and wellbeing initiatives  

Eligible degrees: Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Health Science, Engineering, Risk Management or a related discipline.

When you join the program, you'll be employed full time at a salary of $81,496 + superannuation (as per VPS EA 2024).

About you

We are seeking recent graduates, and representatives of Victoria's diverse community to join the 2027 Victoria’s Big Build Graduate Program.

You will be:

• Highly motivated set and achieve goals, and take initiative in your work

• Identify and solve problems efficiently and effectively
• Meet deadlines and understand stakeholder needs

We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the communities we serve by increasing representation from groups traditionally underrepresented in transport and construction, including:

• Women (and people who identify as women),
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people,
• refugees and asylum seekers, and
• people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

To be eligible, you must:

• Have completed a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree between January 2024 and January 2027.
• Have full Australian working rights for the entire duration of the program (February 2027 to February 2029).
• If you have completed a master’s degree, you must have commenced your master’s within 12 months of completion of your bachelor’s degree.
• Have an interest in working in the infrastructure projects as part of the Victorian Government.
• Desirable: A valid Victorian drivers’ licence and access to a vehicle.
