Are you passionate about empowering First Nations participants through education and practical learning? Saltbush is seeking an engaging and culturally responsive LLND Skills Trainer to join our Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program team in Tennant Creek.

Position Details:

• Employment Type: Fulltime, Fixed Term to 30 September 2029
• Excellent Remuneration: $110k + 12% super + salary packaging + 5 weeks annual leave
• Reports To: Tennant Creek Program Manager
• Hours: Normal business hours, with flexibility for additional hours as needed
• Travel: This role is primarily based in Tennant Creek. Occasional travel may be required from time to time to support program delivery or attend organisational meetings.

The Role: As an LLND Skills Trainer within our SEE Program in Tennant Creek, you will support participants to build their language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills through practical, engaging and culturally appropriate learning.

You’ll use hands-on activities, including hospitality, food preparation and everyday life skills, to make learning relevant and support participants towards employment, further training and greater confidence.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging LLND training tailored to participant needs and goals.
• Use practical activities, including hospitality, to support LLND skill development.
• Develop and adapt learning activities and resources for different learning needs.
• Build positive relationships with participants and support their engagement and progress.
• Work alongside Mentors and the Course Coordinator to identify and address barriers to learning.
• Maintain accurate participant, training and progress records.
• Support connections with employers and industry to strengthen employment pathways.

Essential Criteria:

• Experience delivering training, workshops or participant-focused learning.
• Experience in LLND, employability skills, hospitality or other adult learning environments.
• An understanding of the ACSF and Digital Literacy Skills Framework.
• The ability to adapt learning and resources to suit different participant needs.
• Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
• A culturally safe, inclusive and strengths-based approach to working with First Nations participants.
• Hospitality or food preparation experience, or a willingness to develop skills in this area.

Highly Regarded:

• Experience in the SEE Program, VET or other government-funded training programs, practical hands-on training, or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to obtain where required).

Employment Requirements:

Successful applicants will be required to hold or obtain:

• National Police Clearance (no more than 3 months old)
• Valid NT OCHRE Card
• Current Unrestricted/Open Driver Licence
• Current First Aid Certificate
