About the role
The Finance & Business team plays a critical role in enabling informed, strategic decision‑making across the organisation. We provide high‑quality financial analysis, planning, and performance insights that support leaders to allocate resources effectively and deliver sustainable results.
Our team partners closely with cost centre managers and operational leaders to strengthen financial capability, improve transparency, and drive continuous improvement. Through proactive engagement, clear communication, and evidence‑based advice, we help the organisation navigate budget pressures, meet accountability requirements, and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
With a focus on collaboration, integrity, and service excellence, the Finance & Business team is committed to building a strong financial culture that empowers leaders, supports organisational priorities, and ensures long‑term financial sustainability.

The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. Additionally, it provides community health, mental health, and primary healthcare services to the Tasmanian community through more than 300 sites.

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight ongoing and 15.2 hours per fortnight fixed term for 12 months commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
$111,754 to $126,579 per annum (pro-rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible
