PT Assistant Educator

About the role

Modern Family Early Learning is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Assistant Educator to join our team at our Westcourt, QLD centre. This is a part-time position offering flexible working arrangements that complement our commitment to providing quality childcare and early learning experiences. As an Assistant Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting our lead educators and contributing to a nurturing, stimulating environment where children can learn, grow and develop. This position is essential to maintaining our high standards of care and fostering positive developmental outcomes for all children in our care.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting lead educators in the planning, preparation and implementation of engaging learning activities and experiences that support children's development across all areas

• Providing direct care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and comfort at all times

• Supporting children with routine activities including meals, personal hygiene, rest time and transitions throughout the day

• Building positive relationships with children and families, communicating regularly with parents about their child's progress and experiences

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised learning environment that meets all relevant health and safety standards

• Assisting with the setup and pack away of learning spaces, equipment and materials

• Observing and documenting children's learning and development to support ongoing planning

• Working collaboratively with the educator team to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all children

• Supporting children with diverse learning needs and working alongside specialists as required

• Contributing to the maintenance of centre policies, procedures and documentation

What we're looking for

• Current or working towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent recognised qualification

• A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their early learning and development

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

• Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

• A sound understanding of child safety, health and wellbeing practices

• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team under the guidance of lead educators

• Flexibility and adaptability in response to the changing needs of children and the centre

• Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)

• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain this qualification)

• Reliable, professional and punctual approach to work
