Working at Heights Inspector

About the role

As a Working at Heights Inspector, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, certification, and reporting of height safety systems and equipment in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and client requirements. The role involves conducting inspections of anchor points, static lines, ladders, walkways, guardrails, and associated fall protection systems, ensuring assets remain compliant, safe, and fit for purpose. This position is ideal for a safety-focused professional with a strong understanding of height safety systems, inspection requirements, and client engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and recertification of anchor points, static line systems, horizontal lifelines, ladder systems, walkways and guardrails, and rescue and access equipment

• Perform pull testing and proof load testing where required

• Produce accurate inspection reports and certification documentation

• Identify defects, non-conformances, and compliance issues

• Provide recommendations for repair, replacement, or upgrade works

• Maintain inspection records in accordance with Australian Standards and client requirements

• Liaise professionally with clients, site representatives, and facility managers

• Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all work activities

About you

• Experience inspecting and certifying height safety systems

• Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 1891 Series, AS/NZS 5532, AS 1657, and AS 5216 (desirable)

• Working at Heights certification

• Current White Card

• Current Driver's Licence

• Ability to work independently and manage inspection schedules

• Strong report writing and documentation skills

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes

• Ability to pass medical assessments and random Drug & Alcohol screening

• Willingness to travel to regional and remote NT locations

Desirable

• Rope Access qualifications (IRATA or SPRAT).

• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or related discipline.

• NATA or third-party inspection experience.

• Defence base or government infrastructure experience.

• DCAC and defence clearance

• Confined Space and Rescue qualifications.

• EWP and First Aid certifications.
