The Bridge Youth + Family Services (TBYFS) is seeking an experienced, passionate, and values‑driven Family Services Practitioner to deliver intensive, youth‑focused, family‑centred support that strengthens safety, stability, wellbeing and healthy family functioning for vulnerable children, young people, and their families.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Family Services, this practitioner role is responsible for delivering high‑quality, youth‑focused, family‑centred interventions across Shepparton, Seymour, and Wallan. You will work intensively with vulnerable children, young people, and families to promote safety, stability, wellbeing, and healthy family functioning, while preventing escalation into statutory Child Protection services.
You will conduct assessments, provide therapeutic casework, deliver assertive outreach and in‑home support, coordinate referrals, collaborate with Child Protection and other services, and maintain comprehensive case documentation in line with program and legislative requirements.
About You:
You are a skilled, reflective, and youth‑focused practitioner with a strong commitment to improving safety, stability and wellbeing for vulnerable children, young people, and families. You bring experience working with families experiencing complex needs, including child development concerns, attachment disruption, trauma, family violence, and periods of instability. You demonstrate curiosity, empathy and professionalism, and you have a genuine passion for supporting families to make positive, sustainable change.
You’ll also have:
A relevant tertiary qualification in youth, children’s services, welfare, social work, or related field (Minimum Diploma level)
Advanced knowledge of the issues facing vulnerable families including child and adolescent development, attachment, trauma, and family violence.
Demonstrated skills in casework practice, assessment, and case-planning.
A working knowledge of Best Interests Framework & Case Practice Framework, as well as an understanding of relevant theoretical perspectives including family dynamics.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, liaise, consult, and negotiate with a wide range of staff, support services, and service users.
To be successful in this role, you must have a current driver license and employee Working with Children Check.
