The role

Reporting to the Academic Head of Diverse Learning, the Diverse Learning Teaching Assistant plays an important role in supporting the educational, social, emotional, and pastoral development of students. Working collaboratively with teachers and learning support staff, you will help create inclusive learning environments that enable students with diverse learning needs to engage successfully in all aspects of College life.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Provide in-class support to students in collaboration with classroom teachers, particularly within Stage 4 Mathematics
• Assist individual students and small groups with additional learning needs.
• Support the implementation of targeted intervention programs.
• Assist with the delivery of the MultiLit program (training provided).
• Develop and adapt learning resources to support student access to the curriculum.
• Integrate ICT into learning activities where appropriate.
• Provide pastoral support to students in consultation with relevant staff.
• Support practical activities, excursions, and other learning experiences.
• Undertake administrative tasks as required by the Learning Support team.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues to support student learning and College wide initiatives. 
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. 

 The successful candidates will:

• Qualifications and/or experience working with students with additional needs.
• Certificate III or IV in Education Support (preferred).
• Hold current and unrestricted working rights in Australia.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
• Uphold the College's safeguarding standards and child protection policies and procedures.
• Support and promote the Lasallian ethos and traditions of the College.
• Contribute as an innovative, collaborative, and engaging member of the College community.
• Build positive and respectful relationships with both male and female students, with an understanding of the educational needs and developmental stages of boys, particularly in Stages 4-6.
