What You'll Be Doing
The primary function of the OPMHS Mental Health Professional is to work collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary team in order to provide high quality, evidenced based clinical care to Older People presenting with complex mental health issues in collaboration with the consumer &their carer/s, the consumers General Practitioner, Aged Care Services, other medical professionals and Non-Government Organisations (where applicable). The OPMHS consumer cohort requires specific and specialist assessment and interventions associated with the complexity of their clinical presentations including the presence of co-morbidities such as physical health problems, drug and alcohol use / abuse and issues of ageing including Dementia and the Behavioural &Psychological Symptoms of Dementia.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria
Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRHA) registration as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist or Occupational Therapist or eligibility for membership to the AASW. Recognised by the Diversional Therapy Association of Australian National Council, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.Demonstrated skills in conducting comprehensive mental health assessment and management, including assessment, risk management and care coordination.Demonstrated capacity to comprehensively assess and manage risk associated with suicide, deliberate self-harm , reputational risk and risk associated with violence, exploitation and abuse.Demonstrated experience working in Mental Health Services and a demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007)
