ABOUT GEMCO

Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 15% of the world's manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position on a 4 days on, 3 days off day shift roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns.

As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner, you'll help shape the people agenda for GEMCO by aligning HR strategies with business goals. This role combines strategic influence with hands-on delivery, partnering with leaders to build capability, strengthen employee relations and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture. You'll lead complex employee relations matters, guide organisational design and workforce planning, coach leaders to make effective people decisions and drive change initiatives, ensuring every decision supports safety, fairness, organisational capability and long-term success.

Key deliverables for the role include, but are not limited to:

• Partner with leaders to embed South32's values, foster engagement and build inclusive, high-performing teams.
• Provide expert guidance across the employee lifecycle, including performance, talent, succession and culture initiatives.
• Drive workforce planning and talent strategies, using data and insights to identify capability requirements and succession opportunities.
• Lead complex employee and industrial relations matters, including enterprise bargaining, negotiations, advocacy and investigations.
• Shape organisational design, role grading and remuneration frameworks, ensuring alignment with business needs and standards.
• Champion change and organisational development initiatives, supporting adoption of new ways of working and sustainable improvements.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Trusted stakeholder management, leadership coaching and influencing skills across all organisational levels.
• Navigating complex IR/ER matters in heavy industry, with sound judgement, a compliance focus and risk awareness.
• Leading organisational development, workforce planning and change initiatives within complex environments.
• Clear, influential communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills, with a strong customer-service mindset.
• Strategic problem-solving, commercial acumen and the ability to analyse options, risks and business impacts.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Relevant degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organisational Behaviour, Change Management or a related discipline.
