Retail Store Manager (or part time sales assistant) - Several locations

About the role

Dulwich Bakery is seeking a motivated and experienced food Retail Store Manager to oversee our bakery/cafe store operations at one of our stores. We have opportunities at one location immediately and various locations that will become available later in the year. In this full-time, permanent role, you will be responsible for driving sales, ensuring exceptional customer service, and leading a team of passionate retail professionals.

We also have several part time roles 15 - 20 hours per week, with options for more hours.

What you'll be doing as manager

1. Manage day-to-day store operations, especially sales and customer service, staff scheduling, inventory management, and cash handling

2. Achieving sales growth through store and display presentation.

3. Maintain cleanliness, and food safety protocols.

4. Oversee the recruiting, training and development of retail staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences

5. Collaborate with the head office team to develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies

6. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and legal regulations

7. Foster a positive and engaging work environment that encourages team collaboration and individual development

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a Retail Store Manager or in a similar leadership role within the food retail or consumer products industry.

2. Strong store operational skills with the ability to set and achieve store targets

3. Excellent customer service orientation and the ability to lead and motivate a team

4. Solid understanding of inventory management, merchandising, and store presentation best practices

5. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

6. Passion for the retail industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
