Chef

Rising Sun Hotel Port Wakefield is a family owned and operated hotel within a small country town with a population of approximately 600 people. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and reliable qualified Chef to join our kitchen team for a long-term commitment within our business.

Within this role you will be required to undertake the following duties

• Be capable of working in fast past kitchen and produce food of high-quality standards.

• Manage weekly stock, ordering and ensure limited waste of all produce.

• Creating weekly specials and seasonal menu changes.

• Manage, train and supervise staff.

• Uphold food safety and sanitation protocols to create a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

• Oversee weekly rostering requirements.

• Plan and manage catering events on and off premises when required.

• Work as an integral part of a busy kitchen alongside our other kitchen staff

Requirements for this role

• Relevant qualification plus at least 2 years of relevant experience OR at least three years of relevant experience.

• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within your team environment.

• Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

• Be passionate about delivering high standards of quality food.

• Be available over a 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Additional Information

If you reside outside of our regional area, you must be willing to commute for this position as there is no on-site accommodation and very limited rental properties available within our township.

Salary of $75,000-$82,000 will be on offer to the suitable applicant.
