About the role

The RMH Quality and Improvement (QI) team are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Quality and Improvement Specialist with a passion for Safe, Timely, Equitable and Person-centred care to join our collaborative and supportive team. In this role, you will work closely with clinical services and colleagues across the organisation to deliver a contemporary Whole System Quality framework.

Responsibilities include supporting effective, best practice adverse event management; driving continuous improvement and innovation; and developing strategies to ensure ongoing readiness for National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards assessment and other accreditation activities. 

Key Accountabilities

• Partner with senior leaders and clinicians to lead a proactive, organisation-wide approach to clinical governance, quality and safety.
• Lead implementation of the Integrated Clinical Governance Model, translating it into practical tools, processes and advice.
• Provide expert guidance on clinical risk, patient safety, assurance and quality improvement.
• Build capability and foster a culture of accountability, learning, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Work with service leaders and frontline teams to identify and implement best-practice solutions that improve healthcare delivery.

About You

• Strong experience in whole-system quality, clinical governance, risk and patient safety within acute healthcare.
• Minimum 5 years’ acute healthcare experience, with knowledge of improvement science and systems thinking.
• Proven ability to lead teams, influence senior clinicians and executives, and model The Melbourne Way.
• Skilled in project and change management, with the ability to shape and implement organisation-wide improvements.
• Proactive, accountable and outcomes-focused, with a strong commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
