Provisional Psychologist

We’re looking for a permanent part -time Provisional Psychologist who enjoys working with children, young people and families and takes pride in delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention. This role is ideal for someone who is available for a minimum 3 days per week, up to full time and can work across our centre in Gledswood Hills and partner schools.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Psychology, this role plays a key part in delivering high-quality psychological services across Learning Links’ centres, partner schools and community programs.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

Success in this role will be measured through high-quality clinical outcomes, timely service delivery, collaboration, professional growth and contribution to team goals. In this role, you will:

Clinical Service Delivery

• Support a caseload of children and young people, providing high-quality client-facing and directly client-related services.
• Conduct psychological assessments and plan evidence-based interventions for learning, developmental, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, schools and referrers through clear, respectful and responsive communication.

Assessment & Intervention

• Complete comprehensive psychological assessments using appropriate psychometric tools, clinical interviews, observation and developmental or behavioural screening.
• Develop and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each child or young person, including CBT, play-based, behavioural, parent-mediated and other developmentally appropriate approaches.
• Produce high-quality, person-centred reports, treatment plans, progress notes and recommendations within required timeframes, with reports reviewed and co-signed by a Registered Psychologist.

Team & Operational Contribution

• Work collaboratively with psychologists, speech pathologists, educators and early educators, and support school communities through consultation and professional learning.
• Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, risk and safety processes, and complete required administrative actions within organisational timeframes.
• Actively participate in supervision, professional development and Internship/Registrar activities, applying feedback to continuously strengthen clinical practice.

About You

You are someone who values empathy, professionalism, accountability and collaboration. You enjoy working with children and families, learning from supervision and feedback, and taking pride in delivering thoughtful, evidence-informed psychological services.

You will bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology (4-year equivalent).
• Provisional registration as a Psychologist through AHPRA under a 4+2, 5+1 or transitional pathway.
• Demonstrated ability to apply psychological assessment to clinical formulation and therapeutic intervention.
• Strong organisational and time management capability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build positive relationships with children and parents.
• Strong attention to detail, professional documentation and accountability.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet required timeframes and respond to client and stakeholder needs.
• A proactive, collaborative, culturally responsive and positive approach to work.

You’ll stand out if you:

• Have experience administering, interpreting and reporting on cognitive and academic assessments such as WISC, WPPSI and WIAT.
• Have experience working with culturally and socially diverse clients and applying culturally responsive frameworks.
• Have prior experience working with autistic children and/or hold Cool Kids accreditation.
