About your opportunity
As the Diabetes Nurse Educator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred diabetes and endocrinology care across a diverse range of clinical settings. Based within the Diabetes and Endocrine Team at Townsville University Hospital, you will provide expert leadership, education and clinical support to patients, families and healthcare professionals, contributing to improved health outcomes across the continuum of care.
Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in a broad range of specialist services including inpatient diabetes management, insulin pump therapy, high-risk foot services, adult endocrinology clinics, paediatric diabetes outpatient services, telehealth delivery, and endocrine disorders in pregnancy in partnership with the Obstetric Medicine Unit.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence best-practice care through clinical leadership, education, quality improvement initiatives and participation in research activities. You will support the development of diabetes knowledge and capability across the workforce while helping to shape innovative and evidence-based models of care for the North Queensland community.
