Project Architect

We are a small, bespoke architectural practice specialising in high-end residential and commercial projects. Our work focuses on well-considered design outcomes supported by strong technical rigour, practical construction knowledge and a thorough understanding of local planning and building requirements.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Architect with strong Australian construction and documentation experience to join our team.

Strong Revit proficiency is essential for this role. The successful candidate must be confident producing and managing detailed architectural documentation in Revit, including technically resolved construction details and coordinated consultant information.

The successful candidate will initially take a key role on two high-end residential projects in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, both of which are currently progressing through the Construction Documentation and Construction Design Coordination stages. Accordingly, we are particularly interested in candidates with solid construction experience, strong technical detailing capability and confident client and consultant communication skills.

Working directly with the Director, you will have responsibility for progressing these projects through detailed documentation, consultant coordination and construction, while also contributing to other residential and commercial projects across the practice.

Our studio is conveniently located on Sydney’s North Shore, close to public transport with ample off-street parking available.

The Role

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced Project Architect who is comfortable taking ownership of projects and resolving technical and construction issues.

Your immediate focus will be on two houses in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, including:

•Progressing and completing detailed Construction Documentation

•Coordinating architectural documentation with structural, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and other consultants

•Undertaking construction-stage design coordination

•Reviewing and resolving construction details and site-related design issues

•Liaising directly with clients, builders, consultants and certifiers

•Responding to RFIs and resolving design and documentation queries during construction

•Reviewing shop drawings and consultant documentation where required

•Maintaining design intent while developing practical and buildable construction solutions

•Attending project and site meetings as required

Beyond these immediate projects, you will have the opportunity to contribute across the full architectural process, from feasibility and concept design through to DA, CC, detailed documentation and construction.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage and deliver architectural projects through documentation and construction stages

•Produce high-quality, coordinated Construction Documentation in Revit

•Develop technically resolved construction details appropriate for high-end residential projects

•Coordinate architectural documentation with consultants, builders and certifiers

•Manage design coordination and resolve technical issues arising during construction

•Communicate confidently and professionally with clients throughout project delivery

•Prepare and coordinate Development Application (DA) submissions

•Prepare and coordinate Construction Certificate (CC) documentation

•Ensure compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards
