General Manager | Central West NSW

Our client is an Australian based gold producer, committed to ongoing exploration and development in Central West New South Wales. With an established history in the region, existing operations are now supported with modern equipment and technology to embark on the next stage of the project.  The opportunity to lead the site, as General Manager and Mining Engineering Manager is now on offer.  Reporting to the board, you will have the full accountability of mining operations on the Central West NSW.

About the role
You will be accountable for operational, financial and statutory responsibilities for the mine.  You will take responsibility for transitioning the underground mine development into operations as well as the processing and plant optimisation. This will include overseeing fixed and mobile plant, geotechnical, technical and resource governance as well as Commercial, HR, Community, Health, Safety and Environment. 

In addition, you will be accountable for:

• Leading through visible high-standard safety leadership and regulatory compliance to regulatory requirements
• Overseeing weekly, monthly and LOM schedules, manage stope and development designs and signoff, ground control management plans (GCMP), ensuring structural stability, supported by consultants
• Overseeing mobile fleet and fixed plant maintenance and commissioning, driving optimization, safety and performance. 
• Leading Hazard Management Plans, including Ground Control, Ventilation, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering , Emergency Management, Explosives/Magazine Licensing, and Water Management ensuring compliance to the NSW Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act 2013, Reg 2022 and NSW Explosive Regs 2024 
• Managing the design and sign off of LOM Mining reserve for signoff
• Leading site technical services ensuring all underground geological domaining, 3D historical void surveying, channel sampling, and mineable shape optimizations (RPEEE) are reconciled against actual stope production.
• Directing budget oversight, cost management and team leadership

About you

As an experienced Mine Manager, you hold or able to hold statutory tickets as Mining Engineering Manager (MEM) in Unrestricted Underground Gold/Metalliferous, together with tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent.  Your proven operational leadership experience in underground hard-rock mining, high grade underground gold deposits including direct exposure to long-hole stoping, airleg mining, and narrow-drift development will be highly regarded as will your passion for people, safety, production and cost management.  You will leverage your stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills at all levels to deliver in the role.

A Current & valid Driver's Licence and Explosives Security Clearance (or eligible for Magazine License holder nomination).
