FIFO Waste Managment Operator

About the role

Tropical Waste Services Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) Waste Management Operator From Townsville to join our dynamic team. This Role is an even time roster 1-1. This critical role will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operations of our waste management contract, contributing to the company's mission of providing sustainable waste solutions.

What you'll be doing

• Operate and maintain waste management equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner

• Ensure all waste is properly processed, sorted, and disposed of according to environmental regulations

• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the waste management site

• Assist with the implementation of new waste management strategies and initiatives

• Liaise with the client and stakeholders to address any waste-related concerns or queries

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of operations

• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures

• Removal of solid and liquid wastes onsite.

What we're looking for

• Relevant experience in waste management or a similar industrial/operational role/ or the willingness to learn.

• Strong mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to operate various waste management equipment

• A keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently in a Mining environment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and team members

• A commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.

• Relevant certifications or licenses: Heavy Combination License (Truck and Dog), Excavator Ticket and forklift ticket.

• Basic ability to use Smart Phones and laptops for online reporting & recording apps.
