Assistant Accountant

About the Role

Clarity Partners is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team of a privately owned Australian logistics organisation with more than 50 years of industry success.

In this role, you'll support the day-to-day accounting function, assisting with financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts processing and month-end activities. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting activities across the finance function
• Prepare and maintain bank and general ledger reconciliations
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as required
• Assist with month-end journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Help prepare financial reports and supporting documentation
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner
• Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding finance-related queries
• Contribute to process improvements that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of finance operations
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting procedures

About You

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Experience with reconciliations, journals and month-end activities
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Relevant accounting qualifications or progress towards CPA or CA will be highly regarded
