Position Summary
NSW In Home Care for Early Childhood (NSWIHC) is a not-for-profit organisation providing flexible, personalised early childhood education and care for eligible families in the family home. Established in 2001, NSWIHC is a business arm of NSW Family Day Care Association and delivers In Home Care across New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania. As an approved Child Care Subsidy provider, NSWIHC operates under Family Assistance Law and relevant state and territory regulatory requirements.
We are seeking an experienced early childhood professional to join our team as an In Home Care Facilitator (IHCF), with a particular focus on educator recruitment and workforce growth. Working closely with the IHC Service Provision team, this role will identify and engage prospective educators, support them through recruitment and registration, and help build educator capacity in areas of unmet family demand. This role will also provide facilitator support to families and educators as required, working within the IHC National Guidelines and service policies and procedures.
Essential criteria
Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher approved equivalent qualification.
Demonstrated understanding of child protection, mandatory reporting, and child safe practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of approved learning frameworks and contemporary early childhood education and care practice.
Current NSW Working with Children Check and willingness to obtain a Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People check.
Current National Police Check
Current driver's licence and access to a reliable motor vehicle.
Current Child Protection Certification or willingness to attain.
Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
Strong computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Key responsibilities
Promote In Home Care as a flexible and rewarding education and care career opportunity.
Recruit and engage suitable IHC educators, with a focus on areas of identified family demand.
Build relationships with prospective educators, training organisations, and key stakeholders.
Support educator candidates through recruitment, registration, and onboarding.
Coordinate placements between eligible families and registered IHC educators.
Mentor and support educators in their practice to deliver high quality education and care programs.
Conduct home safety assessments and regular monitoring and support visits.
Monitor compliance with service policies, legislation, and quality standards.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to educator recruitment and workforce reporting.
Respond to enquiries, incidents, and complaints professionally and promptly.
