About the role

You will be responsible for ensuring our guests receive a friendly, professional and enjoyable experience while using the gaming facilities. You will be a visible presence on the gaming floor and play an important role in maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-presented environment.

The role requires someone who is confident engaging with guests, attentive to detail and able to remain professional in a fast paced environment.

You will be expected to proactively monitor the gaming floor, respond to guest requests and ensure all gaming activities are conducted in accordance with legislation, responsible gaming requirements and Stamford Grand Adelaide policies and procedures.

You will be expected to work as part of a broader hotel team and understand that the Gaming Attendant role is not limited to monitoring the gaming floor. It is a guest facing hospitality position where professionalism, communication, teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

You will be required to demonstrate sound judgement when dealing with guests and operational situations, know when matters need to be escalated and consistently follow established procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming guests and providing friendly, professional and attentive customer service throughout their visit.
• Maintaining a visible and professional presence on the gaming floor and proactively engaging with guests.
• Assisting guests with enquiries regarding gaming facilities, venue services, promotions and general hotel information.
• Monitoring the gaming floor and ensuring gaming areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, presentation and functionality.
• Monitoring gaming machines and reporting any faults, damage or operational issues to the appropriate department.
• Maintaining a strong awareness of responsible gaming requirements and identifying and appropriately escalating any concerns.
• Following all relevant gaming legislation, regulations, responsible service requirements and internal policies and procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records, completing required documentation and following cash handling and reconciliation procedures where applicable.
• Responding promptly and professionally to guest questions, concerns and requests, escalating matters to the appropriate manager where required.
• Working closely with Food & Beverage, Front Office, Security and other hotel departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Assisting with the opening, closing and daily operational requirements of the gaming area.
• Demonstrating a strong understanding that responsible gaming, compliance and guest wellbeing are key priorities of the role.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Previous gaming, hospitality, hotel or customer service experience will be highly regarded.
• Current South Australian Gaming Machine Employee Badge (Gaming Badge).
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate recognised in South Australia.
• Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Is confident engaging with a diverse range of guests.
• Demonstrates a professional, friendly and approachable manner.
• Is reliable, punctual and well presented.
• Can remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
• Has strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.
• Is comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
• Has availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
