About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Parking Enforcement Officer to join our Community Compliance team.  As our new parking officer, you will make a difference daily by providing effective and efficient parking enforcement duties within the municipality to create and maintain an environment that preserves and enhances public health and safety.

• Enforce the provisions of the Road Safety Act and Regulations, the Local Government Act, Local Laws and other relevant legislation.
• Manage time and work activities effectively under limited supervision.
• Patrolling assigned areas on foot or by motor vehicle
• Issuing parking infringement notices on behalf of the Council
• Record and maintain clear records of enforcement matters
• Responding to and investigating parking related complaints.
• Providing exceptional customer service to the general public

About the Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong customer service focus, sound decision-making skills, and excellent communication abilities. They will be capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Previous experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Strong face-to-face customer service experience
• Flexible availability to work a six-day rotating roster between 7:00am - 8:00pm Monday to Saturday including evenings, weekends and public holiday shifts
• Excellent organisation and time management skills to patrol designated areas 
• Strong written skills to create accurate reports to be used as enforcement evidence
• Strong observation skills to make sound enforcement decisions, assess safety risks and to interpret parking regulations
• Australian Drivers Licence 
• Thrive in a team environment with a positive culture, where all team members proactively support each other.
