About the role

Mikeloren patisserie is seeking a Qualified Baker to join our talented team in North Tamworth, NSW. This is a full-time position where you will take a central role in our daily operations, utilising your expertise to produce high-quality baked goods and pastries that delight our customers. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for maintaining our reputation for excellence whilst contributing to the creative and technical direction of our bakery offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards

• Ensure all products meet our stringent quality and consistency standards before they are offered to customers

• Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, maintaining appropriate stock levels

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the bakery, adhering to food safety regulations

• Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens, mixers and other specialised machinery

• Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines

• Respond to customer requests and contribute ideas for new baked products and seasonal offerings

• Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure optimal results for all products

What we're looking for

• Formal bakery or pastry qualification or recognised apprenticeship in baking

• Proven experience working in a professional bakery or patisserie environment

• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients and food safety practices

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining high quality standards

• Excellent attention to detail and consistency in product production

• Physical capability to perform manual tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items and working with hot equipment

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Flexibility to work early morning shifts and possibly weekends as required

• Experience with pastry work or specialty baking techniques would be advantageous
