About the role
ASA Institute of Higher Education is a private higher education provider based in Sydney, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses. ASA is committed to academic excellence in teaching and learning, with a high level of regulatory integrity and compliance across all sectors of the organisation.
The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Support Officer works closely with the WIL Manager to coordinate student placements, develop industry partnerships and support the delivery and growth of ASA’s WIL programs.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate student placements across ASA’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs, supporting students through the full pre-placement, during-placement and post-placement lifecycle.
Identify and research suitable organizations and develop new industry placement opportunities aligned with ASA programs.
Proactively engage prospective employers and placement providers, arrange industry meetings and support the development of ongoing industry partnerships.
Maintain relationships with existing placement partners and coordinate communication between students, industry supervisors and ASA staff.
Support the WIL Manager in developing and implementing ASA’s WIL framework, including processes, procedures, workflows, templates and student resources.
Prepare students for placement, monitor placement progress, follow up requirements and provide ongoing support throughout the placement experience.
Coordinate and maintain placement documentation, agreements, compliance requirements, student records and employer information.
Work collaboratively with Course Coordinators, academic staff and professional teams to ensure effective delivery of WIL across different disciplines.
Maintain WIL databases and systems, track placement opportunities and student progress, and assist with reporting and accreditation requirements.
Contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of ASA’s WIL program, including new industry partnerships, improved systems and better student and employer experiences.
Undertake other WIL-related projects and activities as directed by the WIL Manager.
Qualifications
Experience (2 years+) in the education sector, with sound knowledge of industry placements
Relevant qualifications, certifications and/or demonstrated professional experience in education, business, human resources, administration, industry engagement or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
Essential Experience and Skills
Demonstrated experience in administration, student services, placements, recruitment, career services, or higher education.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Demonstrated ability to establish professional relationships with industry partners and external stakeholders.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new student management systems.
