Queensland HSE Officer

We are seeking an experienced HSE Officer , responsible for leading and managing Dynaciv's Health, Safety and Environmental functions across Queensland, predominantly within the rail and civil infrastructure sectors. This role is hands-on and site-based, ensuring high standards of workplace Health, Safety, and environmental compliance while supporting safe delivery of works within live rail environments.

About the Role

You will Report to the Project Managers, while working closely with supervisors, and site personnel. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring safety systems across multiple construction activities, ensuring compliance with rail authority standards, WHS legislation, and project-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain WHS systems, SWMS, ITPs and project safety documentation

• Conduct site inspections and audits

• Ensure compliance with WHS Act & Regulations (QLD) and Rail Safety National Law.

• Support incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions

• Liaise with authorities, project teams and subcontractors on safety matters

• Monitor high-risk activities including working at heights, rail access, traffic management and plant operations

• Assist with inductions and permits

• Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documents.

• Promote and drive strong safety culture across all operations

About You

• Proven experience as a Safety Officer in civil construction, ideally rail or bridge works

• Minimum 3-5 years of Safety Officer experience required

• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and rail safety standards

• Experience working in live rail environments is highly regarded

• Ability to read and interpret SWMS and management plans

• Confident communicator with a practical, solutions-focused approach

Qualifications & Requirements

• Cert IV (or higher) in WHS

• RIW Card (or ability to obtain)

• Construction White Card

• Valid driver's licence

• First Aid Certificate

• Australian permanent residency or citizenship required
