Childcare Centre Cook

My Planet Childcare Centre is looking for a passionate and experienced Cook to join our friendly team.

We are seeking someone who enjoys preparing fresh, nutritious meals and understands the important role healthy food plays in supporting children's growth and development.

About the Role

As our Centre Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and providing nutritious, high-quality meals for children while maintaining a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children.
• Cater for children's dietary requirements, allergies and cultural needs.
• Develop seasonal menus in line with childcare nutrition guidelines.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Manage food ordering, stock control and minimise food wastage.
• Ensure accurate records are maintained, including temperature and food safety records.
• Work collaboratively with Management, educators and families.
• Create positive food experiences and encourage healthy eating habits.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous cooking experience, preferably in childcare, education, healthcare or a similar environment.
• Knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating for young children.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
• A current Food Safety Supervisor certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
• A current Working With Children Check.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage a busy kitchen.
• A positive, reliable and friendly approach.
