• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $138,454 to $152,686 + super

Expression of Interest

Eligibility: This role is open to expressions of interest from all ongoing, temporary and casual NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, and Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure employees.

About the Role

Heritage NSW is seeking Expressions of Interest for a temporary assignment opportunity within our Policy and Strategy Branch. As Senior Policy Officer, you will implement key actions under the NSW Heritage Strategy. You will have strong knowledge and experience in community engagement, project management, program delivery and proven ability to connect with diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Operational Policy team and will be responsible for allocating and supporting the work of other team members to deliver collective goals.

About You

You will be responsible for leading the development of a new Intangible Cultural Heritage recognition program, a key action under the NSW Heritage Strategy, and driving broad community outreach.  You will work closely with key stakeholders to design solutions that meet the needs of system users and government. Your strong project management, research, analysis, communication and negotiation skills will be used to deliver outcomes for communities across NSW.

Knowledge and Experience

• Project management skills demonstrating the ability to deliver agreed outcomes on time, on budget, and to quality standards, and demonstrated time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
• Knowledge of and experience in community engagement, including scoping, planning, and delivery of engagement processes, with internal and external stakeholders, to build mutual understanding and inform program design.  

Essential requirements

• Tertiary qualifications or sound experience in policy development, heritage, Aboriginal cultural heritage or relevant field.
