Gas Monitoring Electrician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Gas Monitoring Electrician to join our team on a 7/7 roster based in Moranbah. Our preference is for an experienced underground coal electrician; however, we will strongly consider applicants with a solid maintenance background, particularly those with experience in the oil & gas industry, EEHA, electrical maintenance or workshop environments. The successful applicant will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault-finding of gas monitoring systems across underground mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality, consistent and competent electrical service in accordance with P.G. Contracting and mine site requirements, standards and procedures.

• Carry out the installation, commissioning and maintenance of gas monitoring systems across underground mining operations.

• Provide technical input to the Maintenance and Engineering teams.

• Effectively fault-find, diagnose and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues.

• Work closely with site personnel and stakeholders to plan and complete maintenance activities.

• Monitor operating systems and identify potential risks or issues that may impact safety, reliability or production.

• Complete all work safely and efficiently, with no detrimental impact to personnel, equipment or the environment.

• Maintain a strong commitment to quality and the delivery of maintenance that supports site safety and production requirements.

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with site personnel, including Process Coordinators and other key stakeholders.

About you

• Electrical Trade Certificate.

• Current Queensland Electrical Licence.

• LVR/CPR Certificate.

• HV Switching Certificate.

• Current Driver's Licence.

• Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) Certificate, or demonstrated understanding and experience.

• Proven experience working within an electrical maintenance environment.

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A strong commitment to safety and quality.
