Registered Nurse (General Practice)

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at Westside Medical Centre in Port Macquarie. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients. We can accommodate a part-time position, offering the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative environment and contribute to the provision of excellent primary care services to the Port Macquarie community.

What you'll be doing

1. Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, working collaboratively with the 15 GPs who practice at Westside

2. Implementing evidence-based nursing practices to ensure the highest standards of patient care

3. Assisting with minor medical procedures

4. Providing wound care, immunisations, injections, and health screenings

5. Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised patient care plans

6. Providing health education and promoting preventative care to patients and their families

7. Demonstrating a strong commitment to patient-centred care and contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment

What we're looking for

1. Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and experience in a general practice or community nursing setting

2. Availability to work on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday's.

3. Strong clinical skills and the ability to work autonomously, while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide empathetic, patient-centred care

5. Proven experience in managing a diverse caseload and prioritising competing tasks and demands

6. A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to contribute to the continuous improvement of nursing practices

7. Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in community and primary care nursing
