Accountant

About Us:

VTG Waste & Recycling are proud to be a leading provider of waste and recycling services across the Northern Territory. As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for a skilled and reliable Accountant to join our team and play a key role in supporting our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Prepare and manage general ledger, journals, cost allocations and monthly reconciliations

·       Coordinate accounts payable, receivable and provide coverage for when staff are on leave.

·       Monitor cash flow and assist with financial forecasting

·       Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, payroll tax and superannuation obligations

·       Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting

·       Ad hoc tasks as directed by the Chief Financial Officer

What You’ll Bring:

·       Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

·       Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a service-based business

·       Experience using accounting software (Xero preferred)

·       Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

·       Working knowledge of Australian accounting standards

·       Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach

·       A can do attitude and willingness to learn
