Experience Cellar Person

About the role

The Experienced Cellar Person is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the venue's cellar and beverage storage areas. This role plays a critical part in maintaining stock availability, beverage quality, and operational efficiency across all bars and service outlets within Hornsby RSL.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, unload, inspect, and store beverage deliveries in accordance with venue procedures

• Maintain organised and efficient cellar facilities, cool rooms, and storage areas

• Ensure all beverage products are rotated using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles

• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies promptly

• Prepare and distribute stock to bars and service areas as required

• Assist with stocktakes and inventory control processes

• Maintain accurate records of stock movements and transfers

• Monitor beverage wastage, breakages, and losses and report accordingly

• Ensure kegs, post-mix systems, and beverage dispensing equipment are maintained and operational

• Support promotions, functions, and special events by ensuring adequate beverage stock levels

About you

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a cellar, stock control, beverage distribution, or hospitality operations role

• Strong knowledge of beverage handling, storage, and stock rotation practices

• Experience managing kegs, beverage systems, and cellar operations

• High level of organisational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Physical capability to perform manual handling and stock movement duties

• Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness

• Reliable, punctual, and professional presentation

• Current RSA Certificate (mandatory)
