About the role
Empower Tesla's Energy Revolution – Lead with Technical Expertise!
At Tesla, our mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy relies on a robust network of installer partners who distribute, install, and service our cutting-edge residential products. As a Technical Installer Support Supervisor (Residential), you'll be at the forefront of this ecosystem, serving as a strategic escalation point and decision-maker to empower partners and resolve complex challenges. If you're a technical visionary with leadership prowess, join us to shape the future of energy distribution and innovation!
The Residential Installer Support team is the critical support hub for our network of installer partners, empowering them to deliver exceptional end-customer experiences. We serve as an endpoint for determining solutions and next steps in diverse scenarios, driving efficiency and success across Tesla's energy distribution chain.
In this pivotal role, you'll spearhead performance and transformative initiatives for a high-complexity team, thinking critically and strategically to devise impactful solutions for current and emerging challenges. You'll execute with precision to deliver timely, game-changing results. As a technical-minded leader, you'll maintain engineer-level knowledge of Tesla products to guide problem-solving, foster innovation, and adapt to a dynamic support landscape—contributing creative ideas to propel team development and partner success.
Responsibilities
Effectively supervise, lead, coach, and develop a highly engaged team of technical support specialists to achieve superior quality, service, and efficiency goals in support of installer partners.
Conduct regular one-on-one developmental meetings, performance evaluations, and audits to monitor day-to-day accuracy, process adherence, compliance, and individual KPIs, while resolving technical and personnel issues collaboratively.
Own and resolve partner escalations from start to finish, providing expert guidance and innovative solutions to ensure seamless installations and services.
Foster open communication with key stakeholders, higher-level support teams, and technical leaders to set targets for quality, speed, cost, and interdepartmental processes, while sharing knowledge and scaling operations.
Collaborate with business partners to expand and optimize the service production team, aligning with Tesla's growth targets and partner needs.
Maintain and evolve team training plans, SharePoint resources, and processes to enhance efficiency, sustain high motivation, and refine the technical support experience.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager, adapting proactively to support business and partner demands.
Requirements
We're seeking an innovative, technical leader with a proven ability to solve complex problems. A deep understanding of electrical and engineering concepts is crucial, paired with experience in employee development and adaptive team leadership in fast-paced environments.
2+ years of leadership experience in a technical, electrical or engineering setting, plus 2+ years in a hands-on technical role.
Positive, inspirational leadership behaviours with empathy, emotional intelligence, and the ability to cultivate successful teams, emanate positivity, accountability, and foster an encouraging, cooperative work environment.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with strong organizational abilities to handle multiple priorities, organize workloads, meet deadlines, and maintain a flexible schedule for team assistance.
Proven ability to manage fast-paced teams under pressure with steady composure in deadline-driven environments; experience in a call center or high-volume support setting is beneficial.
Highly developed skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, data analytics, and collaboration tools to drive insights and efficiency.
Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or an electrical trade qualification is a plus, along with familiarity with Tesla Energy products and partner ecosystems.
