The Team & Role
The Planned Surgery Administration Officer works within the Department of Surgery as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes the Planned Surgery Access Manager, Planned Surgery Associate Nurse Unit Manager, Planned Surgery Clinical Coordinator, Patient Support Associate Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Coordinators, Nurses and Administration Officers. Supporting the day-to-day functioning of the Planned Surgery Preparation List and Patient Support Unit, this role plays an important part in the patient surgical journey. Responsibilities include entering and maintaining accurate patient information, auditing patients on the Planned Surgery Preparation List, speaking with consumers, booking planned surgery, and completing data entry. The role works collaboratively with managers, clinical coordinators, nurses and administration officers to ensure effective customer service, positive workplace behaviours and relationships, and compliance with Planned Surgery Preparation List management guidelines.
