IMPORT AIR FREIGHT ASSISTANT

We would like to add a full-time, experienced Import Air Freight Forwarding Assistant to join our team. Full-time, on-site attendance is required at our office/warehouse located at Tullamarine Vic. Parking on-site provided. Busy Customs Broker/Freight Forwarding operator with friendly supportive team.

You will be a key point of contact for our air forwarding clients liaising with them regarding specific instructions and registering their jobs into our internal system. You will collect required information from relevant parties (airlines, transport companies, overseas agents, etc) in order to organise the movement of our clients' goods and ensure day-to-day shipments are kept moving smoothly from start to finish, managed with accuracy and in a timely manner.

Previous experience with an Australian freight forwarding company in Air Imports is required and a comprehensive end-to-end knowledge of freight forwarding processes whilst ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

·         Coordinating import air shipments, managing cargo reporting and compliance requirements in regard to regulations, reviewing and submitting shipping documentation.

·         Liaise with airlines, agents and customs brokers for shipment movements and answer their queries in a timely manner.

·         Ensure timely deliveries, track shipments and address transit issues.

·         Conduct transshipment checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.

·         Handle invoicing tasks which will include handover invoices and customer invoicing.

·         Process warehouse releases and delivery documentation.

·         Ensure compliance with company policies and security procedures.

·         Resolve issues or discrepancies with suppliers, customers and internal teams.

·         Provide exceptional customer service and regular shipment updates as required.

·         Use in-house system to manage shipments and documentation.

Requirements:

·         Experience in air imports operations within freight forwarding industry.

·         A sound knowledge of international trade regulations, forwarding procedures and operations.

·         Reliable and organised, with attention to detail.

·         A 'can do' attitude with ability to manage multiple shipments at once.

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·         A proactive team player.

·         Good understanding of computer technology - Word/Excel/Email.

·         Results focused with a dedication to finding efficient solutions and meeting deadlines.
