The opportunity
Redlands is an independent Anglican coeducational school of around 1,800 students in Cremorne, Sydney. We are seeking an energetic and strategically minded Dean of Activities (7-12) to lead the development, coordination and evaluation of the School's co-curricular programme across activities and clubs, service, student leadership, performing arts, and local and international experiences.

• This senior leadership role combines clear strategic direction with strong operational delivery.
• The Dean will build a coherent programme aligned with the School's values and priorities, strengthen participation and leadership pathways, and ensure activities, trips and camps are safe, well-planned and sustainable.
• While based in the Secondary School, the role also leads Music, Dance and Round Square across the Junior and Secondary Schools, and works closely with the Head of Sport to coordinate the wider co-curricular programme.

Teaching Load: This role will have a 0.2FTE teaching load, to be agreed with he Head of Secondary School.

Leadership: The successful candidate will have a five year leadership appointment, providing an excellent opportunity for leadership growth, future career development and potential renewal.

Who you are
You are an experienced educational leader who believes that participation beyond the classroom is central to student growth, wellbeing and belonging, can think strategically, build strong teams and remain close to the practical work required to deliver complex programmes well.

You have:

• A proven outstanding classroom teacher with current NESA accreditation and 7-12 experience
• Demonstrated leadership of co-curricular, activities, service or outdoor education programmes
• An exceptional organiser who plans ahead, manages competing priorities and delivers to deadline
• Confident in risk assessment, compliance, safeguarding and the safe delivery of trips and activities
• A collaborative, engaging communicator who builds trust with students, staff, families and partners
• Experienced in leading and developing teams, managing budgets and improving systems
• Digitally capable and willing to use emerging technologies, including AI, to improve productivity and service delivery
• Experience with international trips, camps, tours, exchanges, Round Square or service learning is highly regarded
