Trainer/assessor

• On site face to face training across Melbourne

• Typical hours will be similar to 8:00am-4:00pm at our client locations

• Ongoing casual work

• We train mostly students connected to Workforce Australia

• Availability of 3 plus days per week is required

What will you be doing?

• You will be delivering a range of vocational and non-vocational courses.

• Deliver single and multi-day courses in a range of industries such as hospitality, care sector, warehousing and general employability skills (we are keen for the right cultural fit and will invest in training the right team member/s in the skills to deliver)

• Setting up and packing up your equipment at sites including access and use of a reliable vehicle

• Liaising with students and supporting registering USIs and providing flexible, adaptable and reasonably adjusted training where needed

The opportunity:

• Use your experience in training, assessing or facilitating training sessions

• Minimum 1-2 years of training and assessment experience is required

• Providing feedback to students and the business on improvement opportunities within our training

• Bring learning to life for students by using different forms of communication to gain positive outcomes

• Conduct pre-training assessments and implement training to meet contract requirements

About you:

• We are seeking highly engaging fun facilitators who want to have fun while they train.

• Interest in gamification and interactive learning activities

• This position may suit a person with experience in the employment space

• Ability to work with diverse participants which may include language, technology and other barriers

• Be a driven, supportive and community minded person, working with learners and in some regions, non-English speakers to support them in building future opportunities for themselves through learning

• Have the capacity and desire to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment and managing a complex CRM system

• Excellent skills in training facilitation and assessment within vocational areas listed below

• Willingness to upskill in other courses we offer (we will invest our time and resources to assist with building your portfolio of courses you deliver)

Qualifications:

Current Cert IV TAE is required before starting

Must have some experience in a range of industries such as the care sector, retail, hospitality, warehousing and other common areas of work.

What units do we teach? We teach a range of units as listed below and would need you to have some experience delivering at least some of the below.

• HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid (highly desired)

• CPCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (VIC) (highly desired)

• SITSS00069 - Food Safety Supervision Skill Set (desirable)

• HLTWHS005 - Conduct manual tasks safely

• HLTWHS005 - Conduct manual tasks safely (Personal Care Workers)

• HLTINF006 - Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control

• TLIF2010 - Apply fatigue management strategies
