Supervisor (Brisbane)

About the Role

This National Insurance Builder is looking to appoint Supervisors to manage a diverse portfolio of repair jobs predominantly in the Gold Coast – Northern Gold Coast, Brisbane and surrounding areas. This is an integral role within the business, responsible for the delivery of jobs across both residential and commercial insurance reinstatement projects. The Supervisors will manage multiple projects that vary in scale and complexity. Training will be provided.

The Supervisors are ultimately responsible for all site-based operations such as:

• Engaging trades and monitoring progress
• Forecasting monthly revenue according to project completion dates
• Preparing schedules
• Quality assurance
• Adherence to WH&S standards
• Client liaison
• Managing budgets resulting in the delivery of quality outcomes for clients
• Working with our Procurement team to onboard and manage our subcontractors and suppliers

 Key activities (include but are not limited to the following):

• Compile and deliver detailed scope of works 
• Compile and deliver accurate budget breakdowns, to allow successful tender results and profitable delivery of construction works
• Plan, schedule and drive multiple small to medium domestic and commercial construction repairs 
• Ensure trades/suppliers adhere to purchase orders, SOW's and quote requests
• Ensure the delivery construction schedules are met
• Ensure budgets are met to ensure profitability on jobs.
• Request engagement of new trades and suppliers via company procurement process
• Drive and monitor and adhere company safety processes on all jobs
• Accurately forecast and achieve monthly latest forecasted completion dates, to ensure revenue targets are met
• Have a detailed understanding and experience in the construction process, critical inspection points, permit requirements and WHS requirements
• Provide accurate progress updates for internal and external use.

Key Professional Skills and Qualifications (the following skills and experience are desirable):

• Solid construction supervision experience in medium to large, domestic and commercial construction repairs
• Proven skills in construction estimating for building repairs to both domestic and commercial properties
• Experience working directly with clients, building consultants, and all construction related trades and suppliers
• Ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously with conflicting priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Interpersonal skills to with an ability to deal with both internal and external customers building long term relationships.
• Able to develop business through quality service delivery.
• Experience in the insurance repair industry is beneficial
• Thorough understanding the construction process, critical inspection points, permit and WHS requirements
• Understanding of relevant Building codes and Australian standards.
• Certificate IV in Building and Construction or trade background (highly desirable
