About the role

Join Grain Orana Alliance (GOA) as a Field Trial Operator in a hands-on role at the forefront of grain production research, helping deliver practical, farm-ready solutions for grain growers across NSW. You'll be involved in all aspects of field trial operations, working alongside an experienced team, including researchers and agronomists on projects covering crop nutrition, weed control, disease management and farming systems.

This role offers training and skill development, a diverse mix of field and technical work based out of Dubbo, one of regional NSW's leading regional centres.

A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with potential candidates based on suitability to the role.

Grain Orana Alliance (GOA) is a respected agricultural grains research, development and extension organisation based at Dubbo, a thriving regional centre. Operating for 17 years, GOA has developed strong regional networks and clear alignment with grower priorities. We work on innovative projects that directly benefit grain growers across NSW. GOA strives to improve the profitability and sustainability of grain growers through effective research and extension activities on the most important production constraints as identified locally.

Key responsibilities

The Field Trial Operator will be responsible for:

• Operating and maintaining agricultural equipment for sowing, spraying and harvesting research trials

• Assisting with trial establishment and maintenance

• Supporting the delivery of GOA's research programs

About you

Whether you're an experienced machinery operator, a cropping farm employee seeking a new challenge, or an agricultural science graduate looking to build practical industry experience, we'd like to hear from you.

GOA is seeking a team member who brings:

• Passion for agriculture and innovation

• Practical skills, attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude

• Experience in broadacre grains production and machinery operation (sowing, spraying, harvesting) an advantage but not essential

Qualifications

• A current drivers licence is essential (regular travel within the GOA region is a requirement of the role)

• A current MR truck licence or willingness to obtain

• A current forklift licence or willingness to obtain

• Chemical users qualification (eg. ChemCert) or willingness to obtain

Tertiary qualifications and/or field research experience is not essential.
