About the role

Gant and Sons Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Edinburgh, SA 5111, this role is essential to our operations within the road transport industry. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This position plays a vital role in supporting our company's commitment to reliable logistics services and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operating and manoeuvring large vehicles whilst adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations

• Planning and executing efficient routes to ensure on-time delivery of goods to customers

• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues

• Loading and unloading cargo, or supervising the loading process, ensuring goods are secured and protected during transit

• Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance

• Communicating effectively with dispatch, customers and management regarding delivery status and any issues encountered

• Keeping the vehicle clean and well-maintained to ensure a professional appearance

• Complying with all relevant legislation, including hours of service regulations and vehicle safety standards

• Responding professionally to customer inquiries and ensuring a positive brand representation

What we're looking for

• Current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driving licence appropriate for the vehicles operated

• Proven experience as a Truck Driver in the road transport or logistics industry

• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance with legal driving hour requirements

• Excellent vehicle maintenance awareness and ability to perform basic troubleshooting

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet delivery deadlines

• Reliable communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and customers

• Professional attitude with a commitment to safety and customer service excellence

• Physical capability to perform loading and unloading tasks as required

• Current First Aid and CPR certification is preferred

• Clean driving record and demonstrated commitment to safe driving practices
