About the role
Promote workplace safety at CDU through audits, investigations, compliance advice, training, incident management and emergency preparedness.
About the Position
As the Work Health and Safety Advisor, you will support the effective delivery of workplace health and safety services across the University. You will conduct inspections, audits and investigations, provide specialist WHS advice, maintain reporting systems, contribute to policy development, and assist with training and awareness programs. You will also support emergency management planning and promote a proactive safety culture through collaboration with staff and stakeholders.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
• Relevant qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience and training in Work Health and Safety, with sound knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, codes of practice and industry best practice;
• Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and interpret information to develop practical recommendations, policies, programs and compliance solutions;
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships, influence outcomes and collaborate on complex WHS matters;
• Proven experience delivering WHS education, awareness initiatives and advice, supported by excellent time management skills;
• Commitment to the University’s values.
Desirable:
• Experience undertaking workplace investigations and audit activities;
• Experience developing and reviewing policies and procedures;
• Emergency management experience.
Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and a valid NT Working with Children clearance
Remuneration
Appointment for this role will be at Professional Level 7. The base salary will be in the range of $95,559.68 – $105,995.00 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $111,804.83 - $124,014.15 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
