CNC Programmer/Operator

White Industries, a successful Australian Foundry, is seeking an experienced first-class CNC Machinist, Machine Operator, Programmer and Setter for our Mazak machines to join the team at their Ipswich site. Trusted by large corporates in mining, logistics and agriculture the 3rd generation family-owned business was established over 60 years ago.

About the role

Due to strong business performance and increase in demand at our Ipswich facility, we have an opportunity for a first-class CNC Machinist CAM on a permanent full-time basis. We have a 38-hour, 5-day week operation with opportunity for overtime. White Industries is looking for a CNC Machinist CAM to perform effective preparation of our castings. As a first-class Machinist you will be responsible for manual centre lathe, mill operation CNC programming/operation as well as horizontal bore operations to ensure they meet our quality standards. 

This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the product is of the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Perform Controller Programming and CNC machining as required.  

• Read and interpret technical drawings and operating procedures.

• Monitor the machining process and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and precision.

• Inspect finished machined parts, ensuring adherence to specifications, with paperwork completed in an accurate and timely manner.

• Excellent communication skills, assisting in problem solving when required.

• Dimensional checks for other work colleagues as required.

• Actively participate in our LMP program including 5S, safety and continuous improvement.

• Reliable and punctual in attendance.

• Team player with willingness to learn and develop as well as share skills with other employees.

• Adhere to all White Industries policies and procedures, OH&S guidelines (as outlined in employee handbook)

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

• Certificate III Mechanical Trade / Mechanical Engineer / Mechatronics Engineer / Fitter / Tuner / Machinist / Programmer / Toolmaker / Setter with a minimum of 5 years’ post trade experience in CNC machining.

• Knowledge and experience in Mazatrol Controller CNC programming.

• Knowledge and experience in ISO programming a distinct advantage.  

• Must have strong knowledge in setting up machines and machining techniques.

• Competent with manual handling practices, use of overhead and jib cranes and slinging of loads.

• Forklift high-risk license would be advantageous.

• Must have current Australian driver’s license.
