Role Description The Engineering Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based at Capella Sydney in Sydney, NSW. This role oversees daily engineering operations, including building maintenance, repair activities, and coordination of contractors and service providers. The Engineering Supervisor schedules and prioritizes engineering tasks, monitors safety and compliance, and ensures all equipment and systems are functioning efficiently. The role includes supervising and mentoring engineering team members, coordinating small construction and refurbishment projects, and collaborating with other departments to minimize disruption to hotel operations. The Engineering Supervisor is also responsible for documenting work performed, managing maintenance records, supporting budget control, and contributing to continuous improvement of the property’s facilities.
Qualifications

Strong supervisory skills with experience leading engineering or maintenance teams.Engineering management experience, including planning, resource allocation, and operational oversight.Project management skills to coordinate maintenance, repair, and construction activities.Hands-on maintenance and repair skills for building systems, equipment, and facilities.Experience with construction or refurbishment work within commercial or hospitality environments.Relevant technical qualification or trade certification in engineering, building services, or a related field.Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and compliance standards applicable to hotel operations.Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to respond effectively to urgent issues.Ability to collaborate with diverse teams, communicate clearly, and maintain professional relationships with vendors and contractors.Previous experience in hospitality or large-scale commercial property maintenance is beneficial.
