Accountant

About the Role

As an Accountant, you will work with a diverse range of clients, providing accounting, taxation, and business advisory services. You'll be supported by an experienced team while also having the opportunity to work independently and continue developing your professional skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and self-managed super funds (SMSFs).

• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other compliance obligations.

• Manage a designated portfolio of clients, acting as their primary point of contact for accounting, taxation, and business-related matters.

• Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through regular communication and proactive service.

• Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records.

• Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) where required.

• Support senior team members with advisory and consulting projects.

About You

You'll ideally have:

• Experience in public practice accounting.

• A degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

• CPA or CA qualification (or be working towards it).

• Sound knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting principles.

• Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Class and Access HandiSoft Accountant Practice Management Software.

• Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent client service.

• A positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
