Director (Patient Safety and Quality Improvement)

PLEASE NOTE: This position may also be filled by a Nurse or Midwife as per the attached role description.  

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Director (Patient Safety and Quality Improvement) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Lead and engage high level stakeholder engagement at local and state level
• Provide authoritative counsel to the Executive, Senior Managers, Executive Safety and Quality Committee, Board Safety and Quality Committee
• Collaborate with the Clinical Governance Service Senior Leadership team
• Provide strategic direction and over the Clinical Incident Management program

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Qualification in relevant health practitioner discipline: Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work, Speech Pathology (as per the attached role description)
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia or relevant registration
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Driver Licence
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent full time
• Base salary ranging from $161,540 - $167,217 per annum
