About the Role

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time

Energy Policy WA provides policy advice to facilitate the delivery of secure, reliable, sustainable and affordable energy services.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Policy Officer to join the Economic Analysis team. The team provides data, analysis and advice to support the development and implementation of strategies, policies and initiatives that contribute to Western Australia's economic diversification and energy transition.

In this role, you will undertake economic and market analysis, lead the development of economic policy advice, and contribute to strategic projects that support departmental and government priorities. You will engage with stakeholders across government, industry and the community, represent the Department on committees and forums, and help build team capability through coaching and mentoring.

To be successful, you will bring considerable experience in economic policy development, implementation and evaluation, along with strong organisational, analytical and communication skills. You will be adept at building productive relationships, managing competing priorities, and delivering high-quality advice in a dynamic policy environment. Proficiency in economic modelling would be highly regarded.
